** What is ATRG? [#p6493b5e]

The Auto-Tuning Research Group (ATRG) was established in 2003 with the aim of promoting research on auto-tuning in Japan. The group is currently active with many members, mainly researchers from universities, national institutes, and private companies. We contribute to the academic and technological development of auto-tuning by disseminating information widely to those who are interested in auto-tuning and by providing a forum for deepening discussions by sharing research results.

Major international activities are the followings:

**iWAPT (international Workshop on Automatic Performance Tuning) [#i9346c47]
[[iWAPT:http://iwapt.org]] is an international workshop series that provides researchers and practitioners in all fields related to automatic performance tuning with opportunities to discuss algorithms, library development, and operational experience. Each year, iWAPT is organized by members of the ATRG and is held in conjunction with a major international conference in the field of high-performance computing.
